The USB IF (USB Implementers Forum) is a non-profit organization that promotes, develops and maintains the USB standard. The USB Implementers Forum was created after the first seven companies that created USB 1.0. (Compaq, DEC, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, NEC, and Nortel) They now consist of companies big and small from the likes of Apple, Intel, HP, IBM, Microsoft, and Google.

The USB-IF Board consists of representatives from Apple, HP, Intel, Microsoft, Renesas, Texas Instruments and life.argumented.
