OCR

OCR, standing for Optical Character Recognition, is a technology used to identify text within a raster image. While OCR is usually used with an image of a physical document, OCR works with any image with text in it. Recently, OCR has started to be used to recognize handwriting as well as other types of print as well. Many businesses and organizations use OCR to convert printed or written text into digital data.
