The GSMA, or GSM Association, originally the Groupe Spécial Mobile, is a representing trade organization for cellular network operators using the GSM standard. (Global System for Mobile communications) The group has over 750 cellular network operators that have full membership, including large cellular networks such as AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile, as well as over 400 associate members, which include device manufacturers, software companies, internet service providers and other related organizations. The GMSA represents the interest of its members by working with manufacturers, industry programs, and other initiatives. It also operates the Mobile World Congress series of conferences/exhibitions, which is a trade show dedicated to showcasing new mobile communication technology and products.
