FTTx, short for Fiber to the x, is a type term used to describe deployments of fiber optic cables in a broadband network. The x Is a placeholder that is used to describe how far of the “last mile” the fiber optic cables goes.

There are a lot of fiber network configurations, and therefore, a lot of terms. These include FTTP, (Fiber to the Premises) FTTH (Fiber to the Home) and FTTB. (Fiber to the Business/Building/Basement)
