A DMCA takedown is a notice sent to an owner of a website when that website contains/hosts/provides/distributes copyrighted material without proper legal rights.

The owner of the copyrighted content usually contacts the hosting provider, who instructs the website owner to remove the copyrighted content.

The copyrighted content must fit under the DMCA (Digital Millenium Copyright Act) laws.
