Apple’s original mobile device connector, it’s proprietary 30 pin dock connector, was the connector of the original iPod, as well as the first-generation iPhone and first-generation iPod Touch. Apple’s dock connector was discontinued on September 12, 2012 with the announcement of the Lightning connector.
